St. Lucia: The Hippo Capital

We left Johannesburg and flew together with Elena to Durban. From there we drove 3 hours north to St. Lucia on the coast. Elena lived in South Africa and it was great to have her with us.

Welcome to South Africa, watch out for all sorts of animals! Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, Rhino, Elephant.

Once the sun goes down I go out and get some food.

Hippos are in the water during the day to relax, in the late afternoon they leave the water and grass all night long before they head back to the water before sunrise.
